Bright and early on Monday, I headed south out of town toward Mt. Rose. The road around the north end of Lake Tahoe is steep, and you want a car with plenty of guts.
Mt. Rose is not a destination resort. It caters mainly to the locals. However, I like the place. After being a ski instructor for umpteen years, I judge an area by its terrain and lift service. The lifts are a combination of the old and the new, but the terrain is super.
